The S-Lift
Today when considering a face lift for the sagging tired appearance most people are not prepared to tolerate many months of recovery following aggressive treatment which involves risks such as nerve damage, many tell tale signs of intervention and pain.
The S-Lift , so called from the shape of the incision which affords maximum effect for minimal length avoids much of conventional face lifting problems.
Every surgical procedure carries risk , however less intervention means greater likely hood of safety and certainly less recovery time and a fresher happier you.
Is it for me?
Remember S-Lift will correct the sagging lower face and can at the same time be adapted to tighten the neck. However it does not address baggy or droopy eyelids , ears or lips and sometimes some Liposuction of the jowls is necessary as well to outline the jaw line.
The skin texture itself (skin quality) and pigmentation is addressed by techniques such as chemical peel , IPL , laser resurfacing and the cutting edge PhotoDynamic Therapy.
The Procedure
The so called S-Lift derives from the shape of the incision. The incision starts in the hair line above the ear one fingertip length, and runs down in front of the ear past the tragus ( that little bump) curling subtly around along the crease of the ear lobe to about one finger tip length behind the ear where it finishes.
This is performed in our day procedure centre’s operating theatre. It takes a little over 3 hours, hypnotic sedation is supplied and most people sleep right through the whole event. After a brief recovery period you will be able to go home or stay locally for return the next day to check the site.
A head scarf , beanie or just long hair worn forward will hide the treated area.
Stitches may be removed between 5-7 days and most people return to work after 7-10 days.
What does it cost?
Precise costing is not possible without a consultation and examination in order to determine just what you wish to achieve however for most individuals a straight foward S-Llift will be no more than $5000 (as of June 2009, however prices are subject to change without notice) this takes into account examination and investigation costs.
